Snow

It has been snowing like crazy recently, and for some reason, Payson gets hit worse than anywhere else in UT County(at least, that's how I feel). Last Sunday morning, we woke up to our yard covered in snow, and some very interesting tracks in our backyard.
There were deer tracks all over our front and back yard. Of course, Manny was excited. He thinks this means that he'll be able to go hunting from our bedroom window.
On a side note, I really wish we had a sled, or an inner tube. Our back yard was made for sledding. We have the perfect hill! You can't tell from the picture, but the hill keeps sloping all the way down the side of our house, to the front, all the way to the street. I really plan on trying it out one of these days. Now that we have about a foot and a half of snow in our yard, it should make it that much more fun!

House Pictures

We are finally done painting, so I took some pictures of our house. I want to warn you that when I took them, we had just finished the night before so our house is a big mess in every room. And, it's still not decorated yet, so all the walls are pretty bare. I hope you enjoy.

This is the color our kitchen used to be. I couldn't stand it, it was so bright! I took these pictures before the previous owners had moved out, so it's their stuff you're seeing in the kitchen, not ours.

Here are some pictures of Manny priming the walls. He's dancing in one picture because he was so happy that it was finally done. We had to put on a couple of coats of primer because the green just didn't want to go away! Also, Manny drew me a christmas tree. It's the only one I'll have this Christmas. We didn't put ours up since it was too much of a hassle, and we're still organizing things. I'm fine with that though. We'll have a great one next year!

This is the finished product. One wall is a dark brown, and the rest is a nice tan color. Again, I'm sorry our house is such a mess, and not decorated yet. And we will eventually be getting a new table and chairs.

Here are a few different angles of our front room. It has an arched ceiling, and an open archway, that makes the room more open and airy. The kitchen and the front room are a lot bigger than they seem in the pictures.

Here's 2 of the 3 bedrooms. One is Manny's room, can you guess which one? And the other is mine, actually, it's Boon's. We're not sure what to do with them, so they're both pretty empty right now.
I hope you liked the pictures. I didn't post every room, because I could only get them at odd angles, as you can see. To get the best effect, you'll just have to come and see it in person. I'm sure we will have people over, but it probably won't be until after the holidays and things are much more settled, cleaned, and decorated.

All Moved In

We are finally all moved in. We moved in the week of Thanksgiving. We've been so busy unpacking and painting. Our whole kitchen was a bright green that just had to go. It has taken a lot of primer because the green does not want to go away. It's been quite the project! Manny has been slaving away after work each day on our kitchen and other little projects around the house. I haven't been a big help either. I mostly just stand there and watch him. He's such a perfectionist with everything that I don't want to mess it up. So far, we love it! It's nice to have so much room. It's very quiet and peaceful here in Payson. There are a ton of kids in our neighborhood. Part of our backyard goes up a big dirt hill and then levels out at the top. Our backyard is a little boy playland heaven. We have a few neighbor boys that I always see playing in our backyard. They run up and down the hill all day long. We have a window over the sink that looks out over the backyard. On Thanksgiving morning, I was cleaning up some dishes, and happened to look out the window just in time to see a dance show. There were two boys about 11 years old standing at the top of the hill break dancing. One of them was poppin' and lockin'. He was pretty good too! I just started laughing and yelled for Manny to come see. It was very entertaining.

Sorry there aren't any pictures. We haven't gotten cable or internet yet. When we do, we'll post some pictures of the house.

On a side note, since it's now December, I put a nice little Christmas song on our blog. So, I hope you enjoy this song. It's from us Mexicans to you! Feliz Navidad.

Tag: 4th File 4th Picture

I was tagged by my cousin Gina, and what you do is open the 4th file and upload the 4th picture. This is what came up:

Manny, me, and some people I don't know.
I don't have a clue who this picture was taken by (I'm guessing someone I work with), but this was taken at the beginning of June. Manny and I were at the Relay for Life for all of Provo and Orem. The theme that my work came up with was Kiss Cancer Goodbye! This night was the actualy relay where someone from each team had to have a member walking around the track at all times througout the night. I was in charge of the night shift and making sure that I got someone out on the track when it was their time to walk. I was there (and wide awake) from 5:30pm until 7am the next morning. It was such a cold night! We were the only ones smart enough to think of bringing a fire pit. We had lots of strangers huddled around our campfire all night. Manny and I got on the track about midnight and walked for an hour. After, Manny was so tired that he went home. He was such a good sport to stay with me as long as he did. I got back on the track by myelf at about 3:30am and ran for another hour. I'm not really into running, but by then it was raining pretty hard and I had to keep myself warm. It was such a fun night and for a really good cause. In all, my company pulled in the most donations out of any other company in Provo and Orem.

Payson, Here We Come!

Everyone has been telling us that they want to know all about our house. So here is some info on it. It's in Payson and we move in on the 24th of November. It's 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and has an unfinished basement and was built in 2002. We are so excited to move in and have a home of our own. I'm mostly excited for the garage and lots of storage area. Manny will finally have a place to put all of his tools, pipes, and other plumbing parts (that's the huge plus for me!).

BIG NEWS PART TWO!

Well here it is! Our prayers have been answered, and now the second series of prayers start ( how to pay for it). Hopefully that is just a joke. Elyssa has done all the finding, calling and most importantly pushing me to go for it. We will post more about it in the near future. We did not want to leave anyone hanging any longer.

BIG NEWS!

So, Manny and I have some news for everyone. This has been 5 plus years in the making. And I know everyone has been waiting that long also for this to happen. Any guesses on what it is before I actually say? Stay tuned to find out.

Xactware Halloween!

I'm in the HR department where I work, and that means we do all the parties. So, I had a great time planning and putting on the Halloween party for my company. It sure was a lot of work, and I was so worried that it wouldn't turn out well, but it did. We had a Thriller Dance Off. There were some great dance routines that had me rolling on the floor laughing (literally, I was sitting on the floor while I watched). Of course, we always have a costume contest. HR decided to do a theme, and we won! Ashley (the other assistant) and I were prisoners, and my boss, Karlyn was the warden. I'm so glad I work at a place where we can actually relax and have a ton of fun every now and then.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved Pumpkins on Tuesday night. Mine didn't turn out as well as I thought. It looked much better when it was pitch black and lit up. Manny always does the same face each year. His is always my favorite. Next year, I'll have to try something different so mine can look as cool as Manny's. We carved them 4 days before Halloween, but by the time Halloween came, they were already going bad. Pumpkins sure don't last very long.
Manny's awesome pumpkin!

Halloween Party

My friend, Katie had an awesome Halloween party on the 25th. Of course it was a costume party and there were prizes awarded to some of the best costumes. I was so excited to go because I LOVE Halloween. It's my favorite holiday out of the whole year. Manny doesn't care about it so much, the only thing he does care about is the candy. Anyway, I was excited because this was the first year that I actually got him to dress up. It took us forever to find a good costume for both of us. We kept going back and forth between a few different ideas, and finally decided on the cavemen costumes. Manny's is awesome! In person, he was even bigger than in the pictures. Unfortunately, we didn't win any prizes for our costumes and, Manny's costume was so hot that he only lasted about 5 minutes wearing his mask, and eventually, we ended up taking out his blow-up shoulders also. We had a great time at the party though.

Don't Cavement usually pull their women around by the hair? Don't worry, he made me feel better by giving me a kiss.
I boogied down on the dance floor, mostly by myself, for most of the night. Manny isn't much of a dancer (except when we're at home). There were some awesome costumes there. My favorite was probably Lorrena and John Bobbit. Katie, she is 8 months pregnant and was dressed up as a nun, and her husband was dressed up as a priest. I should have gotten pictures, but I was too busy having fun. Thanks, Katie for inviting us!

THRILLER

Ashley, Deb, Zombie, Fallon, Me, Karlyn

On Thursday, Oct 23rd, I went and saw Odyssey Dance Company at Kingsbury Hall in SLC. They perform a Halloween show each year called Thriller. I love it! For the past 5 years, I've gone every time. This year, I went my boss, Karlyn, Ashley (who works in HR with me), Fallon (she's the executives' assistant), and Fallon's cousin, Deb. We had such a blast. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory beforehand. I got a kick out of all the zombies walking around the crowd scaring everyone. If you haven't ever gone to this show, then next year, you should try it out. It's always so much fun, and there are some comedic routines every few dances that always have me laughing so hard that my sides hurt.

Win This Quilt!

I found this on my friend, Luara's blog. I didn't know if it was true, but I checked it out and it seems to be real. I don't know who this girl is, but she sure is very talented! She's giving away an amazing quilt that she made. If you'd like to learn more about it and maybe win it, go visit her blog. http://pigtailsandsnails.blogspot.com/2008/10/quilt-giveaway.html

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

I got this link from a friend. Kind of fun. I was surprised how much of it is true (at least I think so). I did Manny's name also, and a lot of it was right on the money!
What Elyssa Means
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic “Type A” personality.

Boon

Boon is my little baby! He's a netherland dwarf rabbit, which means he doesn't get very big. He's the biggest he's ever going to get. He's only about 2 lbs. The way that he came to be part of our family was all because of Manny. I had pet rabbits growing up, and I told him that I wanted another one. After bugging him enough about it, he finally got one for me for our 4 year anniversary. He's now been with us for a year. I know everyone probably thinks it's weird that I have a rabbit for a pet, but he is so much fun! He has quite the personality. He thinks he's a dog most of the time. He hops after me all around our house, he's always on my heels. When I sit down, he jumps up into my lap and will just sit there and wait for me to either pet him or give him a treat. He can be such a chunker sometimes, his favorite treat is cheerio's. When he's happy or gets super excited, he'll run as fast as he can and jump super high over and over again. He is so entertaining to watch. He loves to sit behind me on the couch. when he does that, it's as if he's my little gargoyle watching over me because when he's in that position, and Manny gets too close, he'll start to growl at him and he'll get all tense. He can be very protective of me sometimes. Such a funny thing for a little rabbit. He also loves to perch on my shoulder like a parrot. I think he likes that because when he gets scared, he'll bury his head underneath my hair. Another thing he does when he's scared is thump his feet really loud. He is the sweetest little thing though. He'll nibble playfully on my fingers, or lick them, or he'll jump on my shoulder and nuzzle his nose against my face or lick it. I can't believe I love a furry little thing so much. I imagine this is how parents feel about their children. Hahaha, I'm kidding! I'm know it's not even close to having a child. The good thing is, he was much easier to potty train than a child. It only took me a day, and he had it down. Yes, you can potty train rabbits, weird, I know. It's amazing, but he really is smart. Since he's potty trained, we're able to let him run around our house without worry. We leave his cage door open, and if he needs to go, he'll just hop back into his cage (he has a little litter box in one corner of his cage). Or, when he's done playing, he'll get back in there on his own. We don't let him hop around our house all the time. He is in his cage for most of the day. I let him out about once a day for an hour or so to get some exercise. You're probably thinking that he smells really bad, and how could we let him live inside our house. He doesn't. We actually found some deoderizer stuff at Petsmart. We just put it into his waterbottle and that makes it so he doesn't stink. It's a very nice thing to have. And, since he's so small, he doesn't need a big place to live or anything, so he's able to live in our spare bedroom. Seriously, I love this little guy. I baby him so much, I'm sure it drives Manny crazy. Oh, and by the way, we actually aren't aloud to have pets in our apartment (whoops!), so you'll just have to pretend like you don't know anything about it. ;) Also, sorry about the red eyes in the pic. He always has them no matter what. I'll post better pictures of him later.

Real Salt Lake

Last night we went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game at their brand new stadium. It was the grand opening of Rio Tinto Stadium, so we thought it would be a lot of fun to go, plus, Manny is a HUGE soccer fan. It's a nice stadium, although the parking kind of is crappy. It was so cold, thankfully, I dressed warm, and had a blanket. Real didn't win, but they didn't lose either. They seem to tie a lot. All in all, we had a great time!

What Have I Done?!

I am not a blogger. And I really don't want to be. But, I was talked into it by numerous friends. It is a good way to stay in contact with everyone and see what's going on in their lives, but oh man, I don't know if I'm ready for this sort of commitment. Don't expect too much from me. I probably will never update this. But, for all of you who want to know what's going on in mine and Manny's awesome lives, then please enjoy!
