31

That's how many fish Manny caught on Saturday. He was quite happy about it since so far this year, he hasn't had much luck. He went with his two fishing buddies, Kris and Coby, to Fishlake, and together they caught 81 fish in all. WOWZAA! Unfortunately, he didn't take any pictures to document the occasion, so I guess he could be telling me a whale of a tale. ;)

Swish!

Last night we went to the Jazz game. Manny's sister, Felicia, was given great seats to the game and invited us along. We had a blast. First we ate at Red Rock Brewery. Manny and I had never been there before, and it was a very yummy change. Afterwards we walked (more like waddled from being stuffed) over to the Energy Solutions Center. We had some awesome seats with a great view of the court. The game started at about 8:45 which is a little late for me. I wake up EARLY, so I have to get to bed early. I loved watching the game and had a load of fun, but by the end of it, I was so tired and just wanted to get home and in my nice comfy bed. The good news is they beat the Mavericks, by quite a bit too. And, we saw Shawn Bradley. That man is tall! If I stood next to him, I'd probably only go up to his knee cap.

Ice Fishing

About a week and a half ago, Manny took me ice fishing at Strawberry for my first time. I had fun even though neither of us caught a single thing. We did get quite a scare while we were sitting there though. The ice shifted and cracked underneath us and made a BOOM so loud that it echoed off the mountain walls. It made the whole ground shake under us. It felt like I was in a little mini earthquake. It scared the crap out of me, and made my heart jump wildly inside my chest. I was ready to get up and bolt before the lake split open beneath me and swallow me whole. But, the lake didn't actually split and everything was just fine. I guess it cracks all the time like that, although, that was the loudest Manny had ever heard it. We both started laughing afterwards for getting so nervous.
I was surprised Manny actually let me take a picture of him. He never does.
I had so many layers on that I could barely zip up my coat. That's why I look so bulky (makes me look pregnant, but I'm not!). I didn't want to freeze!

Finally...Pictures!

I finally downloaded pictures on my computer so I could post them on my blog. So here are bunch of different pictures that date back to Christmas.
Manny's sister Alina, and her little boy Jared.

Manny and Jared are best buds. They are so funny to watch play together.

We got to sit on Santa's lap. I guess you're never too old for that.

Me and my best little friend, Boon. He LOVES cheerios, and for some reason, he likes to eat my hair. In one picture, if you look close, you can see a strand of my hair in his mouth.

March For Babies!

Since graduating, I've been feeling kind of useless, especially lately. I work a lot, but with the free time that I do have, I'm not sure what to do to put it to good use. I was talking to my friend about this and she suggested that I do March of Dimes with her. I thought what a good idea! There's no better cause than helping premature babies get the care that they need. So, I signed up and now I need help from whoever is willing help me. I don't really like going around and trying to solicit money from people, so I'm only going to ask this one time. My goal is only $20. I figured that is a goal that I should easily reach and hopefully go beyond it. If you are willing to donate, please click on the sidebar to do so...even if it's only a dollar or two. Every little bit helps! Also, if you are interested in signing up and being on a team with me, then feel free. I'm on the Pampers team (for UT County) and the walk will be held May 16th in Provo Canyon.

Calling

Manny and I both received callings in our ward over the last couple of weeks. Manny was called to be the Valiant 11 year old boys' primary teacher and scout leader. He was a little nervous because he's never had a teaching calling before, and he didn't really do much of scouts when he was younger. I told him that I would be happy to help him prepare his lessons. As for the scouts, a lot of what they do will be outside stuff, so of course, Manny is pumped for that. Anything outdoors, he loves! He's going to make a great leader for these boys. Kids always take a great liking to Manny anyway, so he shouldn't have much of a problem.

As for me, I was called to the be the quarterly enrichment activity leader in Relief Society. What the??? Relief Society? Before moving to this ward, I'd never even gone to Relief Society, and I've never gone to a Relief Society activity (too many mean old ladies). I've been in Primary since I turned 18 (6 long years, feels longer though), so this is definitely going to take some getting used to. I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing or what I'm supposed to do. Luckily, I'm only in charge of doing 4 activities a year (although, they are the 4 main ones). Hopefully I'll have good help that can teach me what I'm supposed to do. The weird thing now is that I get to go to gospel doctrine and relief society each week. It's nice going to church and not having to worry about having a lesson prepared. Manny and I have switched places. I'm looking forward to this and so is he, it should be good for both of us.

Catch Up

I've been waiting to post until I had actually downloaded pictures onto my computer from my camera, but at this rate it won't ever happen. So, here's a quick catch up of the holidays minus pictures.

First, we had a great party at Manny's parents' house the Saturday before Christmas. It was tons of fun. Santa came and Manny and I both got to sit on his lap. A little weird, but he pulled out a present from his sack with our names on it. What were we supposed to do?

Christmas Eve was also great. Manny's parents and sister came over to open a few presents since we knew we wouldn't be seeing them on Christmas day. We played rockband and talked Manny's dad into playing with us. Our band wasn't so great, but we had fun so that's all that matters.

Christmas day we woke up and made a big breakfast for the two of us and then after opened our presents we got each other. There were too many for both of us! After, we went to my parents' house. We ate and then exchanged gifts. There are so many kids that gifts were flying all over the place and they were going wild.

New Years Eve was very low key. We both worked till 5pm, and then met up at a restaurant to eat sushi. After, we went home and watched a movie, which ended about 3 minutes before midnight...just in time to see the ball drop. After that, I was so tired (I had been ready to go to sleep since 8), that I just went right to sleep.

It was a great holiday, and it was nice to get to spend time with just each other and relax for a few days. It was much needed!
